Contoocook Railroad Bridge

The Contoocook Railroad Covered Bridge was built in 1889 by the Boston and Maine Railroad. Located in Hopkinton, the 157-foot, two-span bridge features a double Town lattice truss and carries the former railroad line across the Contoocook River. It is also known as the Hopkinton Railroad Bridge and Railroad Bridge. Today, it is maintained by the New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
It is the oldest surviving covered railroad bridge in the world.
