Program – Covered Bridges near Ashland, Past & Present
October 10 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Today, there are over sixty authentic covered bridges in New Hampshire, forty-six of which are over a century old. Join Kim as she shares an overview of the remaining historic covered bridges in New Hampshire and the historic preservation efforts that worked to save them. This program will share the rich histories of the existing covered bridges in the greater Ashland Area (Squam River, Smith Millennium, Turkey Jim’s, Bump, and Blair Bridges) as well as information about the many covered bridges that have been lost to time. Following the program, Kim will be available to sign copies of Covered Bridges of New Hampshire. This program is sponsored by the Ashland Historical Society and made possible by a grant from New Hampshire Humanities. The program is open to the public.
