Bridge Tour – Contoocook Railroad Bridge

Built in 1889, the Contoocook Railroad Bridge is the oldest surviving covered railroad bridge in the world and is one of four covered bridges remaining along the Contoocook River. Join National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges President Bill Caswell and Kim Varney Chandler for an interactive tour of this historic double-town lattice truss bridge. Participants will learn about the bridge’s 134-year history and the historic preservation efforts that saved it.
