Coombs Bridge

Built in 1843, Winchester’s Coombs Covered Bridge is a 118-foot single-span town lattice truss crossing the Ashuelot River. Named for the Coombs family, the bridge likely replaced an earlier structure on the site, where town records document repairs as far back as 1796.

The bridge was rehabilitated several times, most recently in 1997 by 3G Construction of Holderness at a cost of $13,200. Today, the Coombs Covered Bridge is maintained by the Town of Winchester.
